You've finally done it; you finally have all the matching electronics from your beloved tech company. You've imagined this perfect world where your phone shares well with your tablet, laptop, and desktop. You think of the beautiful symmetry involved in seamlessly taking a document from your desktop to your phone while you are on the go and then dream of yourself laughing and smiling because nothing ever goes wrong with your technology.

BOISE, ID., (June, 2015) - Today, Tribute Media, a Boise based, nationally focused web marketing and design firm, announces its achievement of HubSpot's Gold tier as a certified agency partner.
Tribute Media became a HubSpot partner back in February of 2015, and has worked since then not only to become acquainted with HubSpot's tools, but to apply HubSpot's methodology and become experts.
Corey Smith, Tribute Media's Founder says, "we aren't partnering with HubSpot just to use their tools; we are applying their methodology to further our inbound practices. It has changed the way we do everything."
This achievement has been a culmination of the intense education of Tribute Media's entire staff, the result of which is every employee gaining at least one HubSpot certification, the majority holding two or more. Their Channel Account Manager, Sean Dazet, said of them, "they took HubSpot's methodology seriously. They moved exceptionally fast towards the gold tier and toward certifying so many employees."
The internet continues to shake up the world of copyright law. Most people don't know exactly what copyright infringement entails, and it's constantly getting them into BIG trouble.
One of the more popular cases over the years that ended up favorably was Lenz versus Universal Music Corp. In 2007, a very proud mother posted a video of her daughter lip syncing to a Prince song, then posted it on Youtube for all the world to enjoy. Universal Music Corp was not amused and forced Youtube to take the video down because they felt the mother's video violated their copyright of the song.
Working in the tech support industry, I've worked with everyone from the super tech savvy to the computer illiterate. One thing I've noticed with people of all skill levels is that many people are afraid to update software, hardware, firmware, etc. You name it; they don't want to do it. Here, I will share with you why you should update and some best practices.
Updates: They Won't Hurt You
A leading reason for update aversion is fear. I have heard so many stories from noob users and power users both, who have had an update go bad, and now they are nervous about updating anything. Don't let one bad experience ruin the beautiful world of updates.
"Search engines love content." We have made that comment over and over throughout the years. Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing use your content to connect it to people who are searching for you or your service. The more quality content you have on your website, the greater the chance your site will be indexed by the three major search engines.
Having quality content on your site is only the first step. Your content must always be evolving.
Why?
People evolve. Their habits evolve, and their needs evolve.
Web forms on your website can be very helpful tools. They can be used to gather data about potential customers or give current customers a convenient option to ask for help. On the other hand, they can be the source of some inconveniences as well. Spam is an ever-increasing problem, and having web forms on your site is an invitation to spammers everywhere to fill your inboxes with garbage.
What is a Spambot?
A spambot is an automated computer program designed to assist in the sending of spam emails or populate website forms. These programs continue to get more intelligent and now people have become a big part of spamming in recent years. Where there is cheap labor, people can be hired at an extremely low cost to do nothing but fill out forms and send emails.
Having a personality in business is a challenge that every company has to face. People aren't only interested in products or services; they are interested in confirmation and assurance. Confirmation that they made the right choice in choosing your business, and assurance that they are in good hands.
One struggle with business is that it can often feel too much like well... business. I have noticed that people would often rather have a good time in both work and social settings.
As a social media marketing manager, I had the opportunity to interact with customers on a daily basis. I never saw a single customer face-to-face, so one could assume that I didn't have much a relationship with the customers. But, I had both unique and great interactions with practically everyone I talked to.
In my last blog I mentioned that you should not use Internet Explorer....ever. As far as browsers go, there are worse options than IE, but no one uses those. Internet Explorer doesn't have as many extension or add-ons as other browsers like Chrome or Firefox. Also, Internet Explorer (IE) does not receive updates as frequently. Meaning, if you have a sweet new feature or moving graphics on your website, even if your IE is totally up to date, the new feature/moving image may not display or work correctly.
