You have established your business and what you want your brand to be. Now is time to decided which social media platforms make sense for you and your business. Here at Tribute Media we use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google +, and YouTube. We have all of these accounts, but the ones that we use the most are definitely Facebook and Twitter. These platforms are where our customer base is. We are a web design and marketing agency so these platforms make sense for our business.
You will have to figure out which ones work for you. It will be different depending on your audience and what kind of business you run. If you have a bridal business you should probably be on Pinterest and Facebook for sure. If you are a lawyer you should be on Facebook and LinkedIn.
It’s different for every business, but one thing remains the same: Facebook. You should all have a Facebook page at minimum. This platform alone has over 1.19 billion active users a month. This platform is great for any business because it is a more casual place. You can establish who you are as a company and interact with potential clients and friends of the company.
This depends on your consumer and how large your business is. The larger you are, the more you will need to get out there. One Facebook is a great way to enter the social media world. Once you get comfortable with that, then it might be time to introduce twitter.
Multiple accounts are a challenge, but it can be done. Each platform has a different audience and different content. This allows you to reach more people and also different people than what you are used to. When they are used properly the possibilities are endless. You must have someone staying on top of them at all times, but it will pay off. Create a schedule of when to post and what to post. If the person can do it in advance they will not be overwhelmed and more inclined to interact with your audience.
You have to remember, there's nothing sadder than an abandoned social account. It doesn't send a good message about your brand. It makes you look like you don’t take your web presence seriously. Be proactive with your accounts and make sure you are always active.
